Starr County Warrant Records Starr County Warrant Records

Warrant questions in Starr County start with the municipal court listed on the citation, not the county courthouse. That city court controls the case, whether it involves a city ordinance, a traffic matter, or a failure to appear, and its judge and clerk decide whether a bench warrant gets recalled. Starr County has four separate city courts: Rio Grande City, Roma, Escobares, and La Grulla. Each one handles its records a bit differently. One offers a searchable citation portal. Another links a court-approved payment form. The remaining two ask you to call first. Police in these cities may write the citation or serve the warrant, but the court itself keeps the case. A county-level warrant search will not cover these municipal dockets, so go straight to the right city court.

Starr County Municipal Warrant Checks

Starr’s four incorporated cities each maintain a municipal court for city ordinance, Class C, and traffic matters within its jurisdiction. The court may issue process after a missed appearance or unsatisfied judgment. A city police department can write or serve a citation, but the municipal judge decides the case and controls a recall.

City process is separate from JP precinct, County Court at Law, and District Court records. A Sheriff contact or state compliance result cannot substitute for the city clerk’s case-status answer.

Starr County Municipal Warrant Jurisdiction Differs by City

Rio Grande City and Roma publish city-government routes; Escobares relies on a directory phone and mailing address; La Grulla links a court page and payment vendor. OCA’s city activity report treats arrest warrants and capiases pro fine as separate categories, which helps explain why municipal case numbers should not be collapsed into a county total.

The table gives starting contacts, not a guarantee that a search or payment removes process. Confirm the current number before mailing or visiting, especially where the source is an older directory.

Starr County Municipal Warrant Courts Across Four Cities

Each city court handles its own city case. A citation from an unincorporated area instead points to a JP precinct. Read the court name and number on the ticket before selecting a phone or portal.

Starr County Rio Grande City Municipal Warrant Portal

The official Tyler portal can search citation number with DOB, license and state with DOB, SSN and DOB, vehicle or plate, name and DOB, or business name. But the city notice says payment of citations will not remove warrants and directs a person to Municipal Court. The search controls and the court’s status decision are separate steps.

Call 956-487-8889 before relying on a payment result. The online-service address is 5332 E. U.S. Highway 83; the portal displays weekday service hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The city’s municipal-court contact page lists the phone and service location.

Starr County municipal court warrant records: Rio Grande City court contact page

This contact view supports the court route; the citation portal itself carries the warning that payment does not remove a warrant.

Starr County Municipal Warrants: What They Show

Use the method available for the named city. Search Rio Grande City citations through its portal. Call La Grulla Municipal Court before using TrafficPayment. Call Roma’s court or City Secretary when a public search field list is not available. For Escobares, call the court at its published OCA number and verify the mailing route before sending records or payment.

  1. Read the city and court name on the citation, then gather its number and the person’s own name and DOB.
  2. Use the official city portal only if that court provides one; note whether it searches a citation or takes payment.
  3. Call the municipal clerk to ask about FTA, capias, warrant status, amount, plan, required appearance, and recall.
  4. If the court does not publish a portal, ask how to request existing records under the Texas Public Information Act and how to receive written confirmation.

Starr County Roma Municipal Warrant Court Has Its Own Jurisdiction

Roma’s Code of Ordinances creates a municipal court and describes city-ordinance and generally applicable municipal jurisdiction. The code does not supply a current public warrant search. The city home has a Pay Citation link, but the inspected page did not expose warrant fields or a complete status schema.

For an existing city record, Roma’s City Secretary page explains written PIA requests and the Attorney General referral point after ten business days. The Roma Police Department number is 956-849-2231; use it for police contact, not as a substitute for the court clerk’s status decision.

Roma’s City Secretary information describes the public-information route.

Starr County Municipal Warrant Records Have Narrow Fields

No Starr city has a public sample warrant listing in the inspected sources. Ask the clerk whether its case number and warrant number are separate, what process name appears, and which court issued it. A city payment screen can show a citation without showing whether the warrant was recalled.

Starr County Escobares and La Grulla Warrant Calls Differ

Escobares has no current city warrant portal located. The older OCA directory lists its municipal court at P.O. Box 907, Roma, 956-847-1200. Call first; that mailing address does not prove there is a public walk-in counter. JP Precinct 8 at 956-849-7450 is a separate venue.

La Grulla’s court page lists 956-317-1150 and a displayed 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule. Its linked form requires court approval for partial payments, bonds, dismissal fees, and several other transactions. Those instructions are specific to La Grulla and should not be applied to Escobares.

La Grulla’s official court page links its current payment route.

Clearing a Starr County Municipal Court Warrant

Contact the issuing municipal court and ask whether it requires payment, a new appearance, a bond, a plan, hardship review, or a motion. Do not assume a police department can recall the warrant. No Starr-wide city bond schedule, surrender form, or walk-in process was located.

  1. Confirm the process type, total amount, and whether a court appearance is required.
  2. Ask if the judge allows a plan, partial payment, bond, reset, or motion, and follow only that court’s instructions.
  3. Get written proof of recall and note whether the citation or charge remains open.
  4. Ask whether the court has sent the update to the serving agency or DPS, then recheck after its stated period.

Warning: A city portal payment can leave process open; confirm recall with the municipal court and keep the written order or receipt.

Starr County Municipal Warrant Clearance Needs a Recheck

After payment, appearance, bond, or a judge’s order, ask whether the warrant itself is recalled, whether the underlying case remains pending, and whether another setting has been scheduled. A receipt may prove a transaction without proving that the clerk updated the warrant or notified the serving agency.

Keep the citation, case number, court contact, dated receipt, recall order, and next-date notice together. If an FTA report reached DPS, ask when the court will transmit closure; the public DPS update window can be up to seven business days after the court reports it.

The court controls the city case; the Sheriff at 956-487-5571 is only a county law-enforcement cross-check.
